There are many brands of calcium drenches- this is the most palatable and seems to cause the least irritation. I’ve used a few brands and my goats do not react to this brand. They do however have horrendous reactions to others. When I use this I mix it with Power Punch which makes it even more palatable. You should have this on hand at ALL TIMES.

Found here. Also tractor supply tends to keep in stock

Power punch- used to help with energy levels and gut function. I use in times of stress, when goats adults or kids scour and most crucially paired with Cal MPK. Goats who are having milk fever or pregnancy toxemia they can resemble the same symptoms pairing Cal MPK and Power punch is a safe way to address both of these issues at home. More intervention may be needed but this is a start.

found here

Probiotics and Enzymes! These are things I keep on hand and offer pre-kidding, post-kidding, times of stress, transport, scouring etc. Probiotics and Enzymes should be paired when scouring is severe.

Left you can get a large tube with dosing gun as well
Middle

Nutridrench is a good alternative to power punch if you can’t locate power punch this is equally as good of a product. The pump top is nice as the goats tend to let you pump it in.

Most stores have this on hand but can be found here too

Electrolytes- finding the ones your goats will drink is crucial. Mine love blue lite so I keep it on hand. Having the goat brand on hand is crucial for kids. If you have scouring you need to cut milk bottles and replace with electrolyte bottles and never mix the two. Blue lite is something we offer year round but really push it at shows, heat waves, illness and after kidding.

Goat electrolytes that work best for kids these are most commonly available in store

Antiseptic lube this can be used simply to check, to help go in and assist in repositioning or pulling a kid. This is also good to pump in behind a kid if the sac burst already and the doe needs more lubricant to get the kid out easier.

Gloves both hand and arm these are not only for the goats health but for yours! I used to not overly worry about using gloves. But there are things a doe can pass to you like Q fever and even the most vigilant testing you can have false negatives. You do not want to contract Q fever so glove up.(we have never had a positive animal here and we still practice this safety measure)

Super lube available here
I like the nitrile gloves you can find really anywhere (vinyl gloves are not my favorite)
arm gloves you can find online at pbs animal health, premier 1, or valley vet

Kid tubing tube for when you need to tube feed a kid. These also work well if you need to do a vaginal flush with lube or antibiotics etc….

you can find these here

NOTE DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS IF YOU HAVE NOT DONE IT BEFORE! Contact a vet or someone experienced as you can do more damage than good.

Iodine is crucial you need to dip the umbilical cord multiple times first day this is NOT an option :) it is a requirement no if ands or but’s

Can be found many places but order online here

The beloved snot bulb! It’s important to have quality ones that are very soft. You do not want the plastic(ey) ones. I also make sure to have a few on hand at all times and toss them often. Or purchase the washable ones. I found the one linked below at our local Qfc and so far it’s been great. Washable and it’s nice and soft so you can get a good suction.
