ADGA stands for the American Dairy Goat Association and is the largest Dairy Goat registry in the Unites States. Adga has multiple performance programs that our farm participate in and we are happy to assist others in joining into.

DHIR- AKA Milk testing. This is the most complicated process to start if I am being blunt but with support it is actually the easiest to do and maintain! I am here in hopes to assist people in working towards doing this. You do not have to be registered to do milk testing. However, for their records to be traced with CBDC website and ADGA they do need to be. Linear Appraisal- Linear Appraisal will be your next easiest program. It is most costly but worth it! You will sign up at the beginning of the year and pay a deposit.  You will need to decide whether or not you wish to be a host herd or travel to a farm who is hosting (you will need approval to do so by that farm thankfully many offer to do so.) Once notified you get appraised this year they will let you know your date and an appraiser will come out and appraise your herd. Showing- this is one of my favorite things I love showing! It is such a fun way to prove your goats out and meet more people! You will want to join your district facebook group and your state's different dairy goat associations who host shows to stay in the know. If you are in the Northwest I highly recommend ADGA District 7 as they have a pinned post of all shows!
