"Prices”
Prices are determined through evaluation of kids and how each parent has proven
themselves. Consisting of, but not limited to, milk stars and production records,
champion wins, linear appraisal scores and the sire's proven doe prodigy. Base price for
breeding stock is $300 and built upon from there, wethers are $200 a
pair.
Please keep in mind we have spent a lot of time, and money into bringing very nice genetic into this farm,
showing, milk testing and doing everything we can to prove our herd. Our prices reflect this
We only sell our goats to homes who currently have goats or are purchasing at least
two from us. Discounts will be given to those picking up wethers prior to weaning. A
$50 discount will be applied to any registered goat kids being sold to homes currently
participating in DHI, LA performance programs, 4-H, or actively showing in ADGA
sanctioned shows. (potential larger discounts on adults)."
What To Expect
All new kids (with the exception of wethers) will come with signed registration papers, it
is the buyers responsibility to submit these to ADGA for ownership transfer. In some
circumstances I can mail them directly to the new buyer from ADGA
All kids will be tattooed, disbudded, current on CDT vaccinations and Cocci prevention.
Wethers will be Berdizzo (castrated) or on contract that buyer will have them castrated
(at buyers expense) or brought back to be Berdizzo (for no extra charge) once reaching
a maturity level agreed upon prior to leaving, usually 12-16 weeks.
When Will They Be Ready
Most kids will be bottle raised and ready for their new home as early as 3 weeks if
evaluated as ready and buyer agrees to continue bottle feeding until a minimum of 8
weeks. If a reservation is placed, kids must be paid in full and picked up by 8-12 weeks
of age as we determine. If no pick up arrangements have been made by the date we
determine the kid ready, or you need a bit more time to prepare, a $5/day boarding fee
will be added to the cost up to a maximum of 3 weeks. At which time the sales contract
will be void, any payments made will be forfeited to Be Well Farmstead and the kids will
become available again. Due to circumstances last year and lessons learned through unfortunately being
taken advantage of in generosity our agreement for pick up and transport are going to be pretty firm. If you wish to transport
an animal I am happy to meet someone but I will no longer be holding animals long term, If any meet up is late by more then 2 hours I will leave location and go home the animal will be available for 24 hours for farm pick up after that the sale is null and deposit is forfeit. I of course want to work with buyers as much as I can but please understand I work a full time job, a mom of 2 kids, full time farmer and wife my time is limited.
Coming Home
We will always do our best to ensure happy and healthy goats are leaving our farm on
pick up day. Buyer may request a vet check prior to leaving at buyer's expense. We will
include some basic care guidelines and be available for any and all questions in those
first few days and beyond. We are excited to welcome you, if a new goat owner, to a
wonderful, caring, and helpful goat community. Once the animal has left our farm we
can make no guarantees/warranties and there will be no refunds issued. If an animal does die and a replacement is sought a Necropsy from a Licensed vet will be required with results released to Be Well Farmstead in order to justify full replacement showing that the cause of death was from an issue that the animal had prior to leaving our farm, We have not ran into this issue before and of course wish to work with our customers, Please keep in mind any birth defect (again not ever happened before) that becomes present within one year of purchase will of course warrant a replacement animal within one breeding season of request. We will do our very best to be sure a replacement of same or equal value is provided. Keeping in mind animals are live beings and not all variables are within our control.
If buyer ever decides to sell their Be Well Farmstead breeding stock we request first
right of refusal at all times.
